About
My research interests are in the history of sport and exercise science with a focus on the social and cultural views towards athletics and the athletic body. My most recent research examined the hypermasculine male body and social attitudes towards muscularity in nineteenth century Britain.
My proposed future research will examine Physical Culture in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
In addition to these research interests I am also interested in the historical and anthropological study of gender history, masculinity, sexuality and sport.
